A staple at our bi-annual karaoke parties, Stevie Nicks is a revered chanteuse among the Lille ladies. My own teenage style sense was one part Stevie, one part Bjork, with a dash of Wednesday Addams for good measure, so this costume is close to my heart. It seems we are not the only Fleetwood Mac fans, what with Night of 1000 Stevies, last year’s guest appearance on Up All Night, and her cult-status as “The White Witch” on American Horror Story: Coven.
Dressing up as Stephanie Lynn “Stevie” Nicks is pretty easy if your wardrobe holds even the slightest traces of a gothy past. Just throw on your favorite vintage slip with a lacy shawl, and twirl, baby, twirl! Of course, you can get a bit more sophisticated in Eberjey’s Colette Long Kimono and the Silk Charmeuse Long Slip by Only Hearts. Their Copper Lace and Cora Lace dresses are other good options whose use won’t be limited to Halloween night. And you certainly can’t go wrong with anything at all by Shakuhachi. Head scarves and top hats are good accessories, if you’re looking to embellish. Just be sure to warm up your vocal chords so you can burst into an impromptu rendition of “Rhiannon” on call.
