By now, I’m sure you all know the depths of our affection for the Stella McCartney Lingerie Collection. We’ve been carrying the brand for nearly four years, and with each season, the quantity of styles we have been able to buy as a small, independently-owned boutique has increased exponentially, in part due to our undying love for Stella and her inimitable sense of style, but mainly because Portland ladies have proven their fashion maven status by buying out the collection at the start of every season. In fact, we are one of the biggest Stella distributors in the country, and for that we thank you, because in the retail world, there is nothing better than buying garments that make your heart sing and selling them to women who love them just as much as you do! It is rare for there to be much of anything left by the time we get around to sale markdowns, as many a woeful girl will tell you: the Stella bras are quite often “the ones that got away.” I get wistful when I think about the Sofia Flashing and Irene Gardening Bustiers or the kelly green Elodie Hopping set, all of which sold out before I snagged my size (I try not to take one of everything for myself, hard as it may be.) Fortunately, Stella often repeats the more popular styles like the Eve Giggling, the Marguerite Riding and the Clara Whispering in new colorways, as she did this season with the Lulu Reading, Jane Snuggling and Josephine Marrying groups. But the NEW ones! Oh my goodness. Just wait until you see the spectacular Ilda Driving robe, which reminds me of a cross between 1920s Orientalism and Miami in the ’80s a la Blanche Devereaux or Elvira Hancock. The velvet-flocked Florence Acting is a romantic spin on the Eve and Lola, with the same level of support and comfort. And the styles that have yet to arrive are even more adventurous (the best of which has to be the Anna Glowing, in all its metallic studded, box-pleated glory.) We will soon be releasing our highly anticipated Stella lookbook, shot last week here in Portland by Lisa Warninger, along with another short film by Justin Koleszar, but I wanted to give our loyal LIL readers a sneak peek, so here are a few stills from the video, with clips to come soon….Enjoy!
