After the in-laws have gone home and you’ve put the kids to bed, it’s nice to be able to open that special present. The one that comes in a tiny little package and puts a twinkle in the eye of both the giver and the receiver. For this tall order, we recommend Maison Close all the way. Saucy and stylish, this French brand makes beautiful lingerie, boudoir accessories and massage candles that will spice up your holidays something fierce! We’re all in love with the Bellevue collection, which is made of a super soft modal and is just sheer enough to be slightly scandalous. The Suspender Tank is the hands-down favorite from this group, although the Garter Belt is also a winner. Pair either one with a pair of their fabulous Les Coquetteries Stockings and the matching thong for a look that is as comfortable as it is drop-dead sexy.
Yasmine Eslami is another designer whose ability to harness the French “je ne sais quoi” results in a distinct sensuality that is hard to find in American lingerie. We’re so thrilled to be the first store in the US to carry it! We just received a shipment of the sexy lace and mesh Tara demi-underwire bra that will flatter just about every bust in town.
Francophiles always fall for Huit, a time-tested French brand that combines support and durability with a touch of playfulness. Their fun, fabulous color options (like the “Cheri Love” in the Mrs. Wang) take otherwise basic, everyday lingerie to another realm. Give her the “Love in Shanghai” set with a copy of The Lover, and get ready for a steamy night!
Rituel by Carine Gilson is the go-to French brand for those of you who want to splurge (short of a trip to the actual Carine Gilson shop in Paris, which would be the ultimate lingerie-lovers dream!) We’re huge admirers of Gilson’s classic sense of style, and her attention to detail is flawless. Nothing but silk and lace in gorgeous colors like Ambre and Bleu Glacier. We could prattle on and on about our love of French lingerie from brands like Eres and Nina Ricci, but we don’t want to overwhelm you with options (something we do often!) so we’ll leave it at that. Joyeux Noël!
